This is a lesson on how to play the tune Jolie Blon (sometimes called the 'Cajun National Anthem') on the mandolin. The mandolin is not an instrument used very often in Cajun music, and I am in no way suggesting I know anything about Cajun music. However it is always a fun challenge to try tunes from different genres to see how they differ from our standard mandolin repertoire. We'll learn the main melody first, and then discuss all of the different embellishments you can add to make this more like how a Cajun fiddle player would approach this tune.
